At Carmel Pet Care we love animals and always want the best for them. Coming off the holiday season, I would say everyone’s need for pet care was great. Caring for animals can be exhausting work and when the animals are healthy and strong, it’s not unusual for a dog to have more energy and strength than their pet sitter; certain tactics must be employed to keep everyone safe and make sure the dogs are getting plenty of exercise so they don’t get over excited.

One of the animals I was pet sitter for this holiday season was a Dalmatian; a very athletic dog. Historically, Dalmatians were used as guard dogs so they don’t always play well with other dogs but are fine animals with incredible energy and an ability to run like the wind.

Giving pets plenty of exercise goes a long way to helping behavioral problems and reducing Vet bills. A tired dog is a good pet!
